Which banks offer staking?

Staking and yield means you can earn on crypto held at the bank, and 13 of the 36 pass. The full-score group is Swiss and Liechtenstein heavy: Sygnum, AMINA Bank, Swissquote, Bitcoin Suisse and Bank Frick all stake ETH, SOL, ADA and more inside the custody account, PostFinance stakes Ethereum from 0.1 ETH, Anchorage Digital covers more than 20 networks for institutions, Revolut offers 16 tokens in-app, and Rebind places EURe and USDC in DeFi money markets. Partial scores are yield without staking: Xapo Bank pays interest in Bitcoin on USD, Wirex runs Earn accounts, Singapore Gulf Bank offers USD fixed deposits, and Standard Chartered stakes for institutions through Zodia. The 23 that fail include every UAE bank, Cross River Bank, Mercury and Custodia Bank in the US, DBS where MAS bars retail staking, LHV which says staking comes after its MiCA licence, and Zürcher Kantonalbank, Luzerner Kantonalbank, BBVA and Santander · Openbank, none of which offer yield.

Questions people ask

Which banks let a retail customer stake ETH without moving it to an exchange?

Swissquote stakes ETH, DOT, SOL and ADA inside a normal account and keeps 20 percent of rewards. Revolut stakes 16 tokens in-app for residents of the UK, EEA, Switzerland and several other countries. PostFinance stakes Ethereum from 0.1 ETH for Swiss residents. Bitcoin Suisse stakes ETH, SOL, DOT and ADA for clients from CHF 50,000. Sygnum and AMINA Bank do the same but for qualified investors.

What is the difference between a staking bank and one that pays interest on crypto?

Staking banks put your proof of stake coins to work on the network and share the rewards, which is what Sygnum, Bank Frick and Swissquote do. Xapo Bank pays 3.35 percent on USD and 0.25 percent on Bitcoin, paid daily in Bitcoin, which is interest rather than staking. Wirex advertises up to 9.75 percent on stablecoin Earn accounts with no compensation cover, and AMINA Bank runs a Stablecoin Rewards Account on USDC, EURC, USDG and RLUSD alongside its staking desk.
