A stablecoin off-ramp means you can turn USDT, USDC or a similar coin back into dirhams or dollars through the bank, rather than through a P2P trade. In the UAE that splits cleanly by audience. AMINA Bank (15 of 16) trades USDC, USDT, EURC, PYUSD and RLUSD against fiat, but only for professional clients, and its Abu Dhabi ADGM branch cannot deal with retail at all. Zand Bank (8 of 16) redeems AEDZ, USDT and USDC against a company's AED current account through ZandMint, with no personal accounts. The four partials are weaker. RAKBank lists USDT and pays sale proceeds straight to your AED account, but you cannot deposit coins from outside, so it is an off-ramp for stablecoins bought inside the app. Standard Chartered's stablecoin work sits with institutions and its Hong Kong HKDAP pilot, not the DIFC retail desk. Wio and Liv name no stablecoin at all, and their partial credit rests on the fiat side, meaning dirhams wired in after you sell elsewhere. ruya is off the list because Bitcoin is the one coin it offers.
| Bank | Score | Type | Health | P2P | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AMINA Bank | 15/16 | Crypto-native | Solid | none | Yes, but only for professional clients and companies. Individuals need CHF 500,000 in assets plus finance experience, or CHF 2 million. |
| Standard Chartered | 8/16 | Traditional | Watch | none | Yes for institutions, through spot trading, custody and stablecoins. Retail customers get little beyond the Mox app in Hong Kong. |
| Zand Bank | 8/16 | Business banking | Solid | none | Yes for licensed businesses and institutions, no for individuals. |
| RAKBank | 8/16 | Traditional | Solid | none | Yes. Crypto trading is built into the app, but it is a closed loop run by Bitpanda, and exchange transfer rules are not published. |

As a resident, RAKBank is the direct route. USDT is on its Bitpanda-run coin list and sale proceeds land in your RAKBank AED current or savings account. The catch is that there is no published way to deposit coins from an outside wallet, so the USDT has to have been bought in the app. A UAE company can redeem USDT, USDC or AEDZ against its AED account at Zand Bank through ZandMint. AMINA handles USDT and USDC too, but for professional clients and companies.
AMINA Bank takes crypto in from a wallet you control, whitelisted by micro transfer or signed message, or from a supported exchange like Coinbase or Kraken once you prove the account is yours. It is professional clients only, and the ADGM branch in Abu Dhabi is not permitted to serve retail. Zand's institutional custody holds USDT, USDC and RLUSD for licensed businesses. Wio, RAKBank, Liv and Standard Chartered's DIFC arm publish no route for coins to arrive from outside.
