Yes. BBVA sells and holds bitcoin and ether inside its own app in Spain, Switzerland and Türkiye, but the Spanish service is a closed loop and moving coins out costs 4%.

Usually, yes. Reports from 2026 say BBVA treats SEPA payments to MiCA-authorised exchanges as ordinary transfers, helped by the fact that it runs its own crypto desk. Some customers still describe one-off blocks on card payments to Coinbase, and the Bank of Spain confirms banks may hold such payments for AML checks. Instant transfers are capped at roughly 1,000 euros each, so larger amounts go by standard SEPA.
Not from the app. BBVA Spain has no send or receive function and you cannot use the blockchain directly. You can ask BBVA to return your coins to an address in your name at another EU-authorised provider, and that costs 4% of the euro value. Selling back to euros is the cheaper exit at 1.49%.
1.49% on each buy and each sell, with the first purchase free. Custody is free. The minimum trade is 10 euros and purchases are capped at 20,000 euros a year unless you ask for the 50,000 euro limit.
